She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the spring of 2004 and died, aged 52, on 20 October 2004. She taught film making and editing in the University of Wisconsin-Madison until her death.
Corbeau Films is proud to announce the release of Barefoot To Jerusalem, the final film by acclaimed filmmaker Nietzchka Keene, director of The Juniper Tree. A shocking tragedy sends Mara (Meleah Veit) hurtling down a path of sin, redemption and grace. With a modern sense of irony and an age-old spirituality, Barefoot to Jerusalem is the moving and timeless story of a woman struggling to face her deepest desires, her darkest fears, and ultimately, the Devil.
